Day 1

WELCOME TO SENEGAL

On arrival at the Blaise Diagne International Airport, you will be met by a member of the team who will assist and transfer you to your lodging.

After settling in, the group shall be treated to a welcome Senegalese feast.

Day 2

DAKAR CITY TOUR

 

Enjoy your first day in Dakar by making new friends, exploring the bustling city with our local rep. We will see the tallest statue in Africa, the Presidential Palace, the Independence Square,the Mamelles Lighthouse and the Lebous fishing village of Ngor.

The group shall enjoy a stroll through the shaded and colorful streets before sipping an aperitif by the sea.

Day 3

GOREE ISLAND HERITAGE TOUR

Departure on a rowboat to reach the island of Gorée, today we visit this UNESCO World Heritage site to discover a page in the history of the black continent; an emotional education on what happened to our ancestors in the House of Slaves.

We shall be treated to wonderful colonial residences decorated with bougainvillea in shimmering colors.

Day 4

SENEGALESE COOKING CLASS IN KEUR YAKAAR

We explore a small fishing village that borders a magnificent lagoon classified as a nature reserve; La Somone.

We will also take part in a cooking workshop like no other. We shall young chefs in the hotel school created by an NGO,  to prepare Thiéboudieune (rice with fish) or Chicken Yassa.

The experience will end with a lunch with our new friends during which you will be able to our hard work!

Day 5

PINK LAKE AND QUAD BIKE EXPLORATION

 

Today we will be have some fun!

All roads lead to Lac Rose (Pink Lake). We will get to witness this wonder of nature and ride our quad bikes in the sandy dunes to explore the surrounding villages.

Day 6

PERSONAL TIME IN SALY/ SOUVENIR SHOPPING

 

Saly is known for its long beach lined with beautiful hotels, cafes and restaurants.

It’s a free day and one can enjoy the beach, the golden sand inviting to laze around or head to the craft village to get souvenirs.

Day 7

THE SINE SALOUM ADVENTURE

Sine Saloum is a magnificent region endowed with a very high biodiversity and which extends over some 180,000 hectares.

Upon our arrival at the Ecolodge on the waterfront, we will take advantage of the early afternoon to relax by the pool.

We shall the depart aboard a horse-drawn carriage, to discover the village of Fimela to enjoy the tranquility and nature.

Day 8

SIMAL MANGROVE EXPLORATION & MAHICAO MUSEUM

After breakfast, we shall head on to the lagoon which borders the village of Simal, to go for a Canoe ride in the mangrove. This will be a time for observing the birds in the region like gray pelican, lesser flamingo, goliath heron, & mocking gulls.

Afterwards, we pass by the M.A.HI.C.A.O, Museum of Art and History of West African Cultures. We shall get the opportunity to see masks, statuettes, fabrics and other objects of worship perpetuate in this beautiful space the memory of a glorious past.

Day 9

RELAX AND DEPART SENEGAL

We wake up to our final breakfast in Senegal. We get to reflect on your life-changing experience in the amazing country.

After this you will be dropped off at the Blaise Diagne International Airport for your flight back home

from the Gram
